Thelma Rhea Park, age 99 of Hartford, passed away Sunday, December 11, 2022, at her residence. She was born on January 16, 1923 in Taffy, Kentucky the daughter of Rosal C. and Marie Thomas Park. Rhea was a member of Hartford United Methodist Church. Being the anchor of her family, she sacrificed her personal life in order to care for her family. Although she never had children of her own she was the mother hen to all of her nieces and nephews. Living seventy years on Union Street, she laughingly called herself the "Mayor of Union Street." Left to honor Rhea's memory is her brother, Bob Park; and many nieces and nephews. Aside from her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Ruby Crowe (Gerald), Earl Glen Park (Mary), Sue Salts (Jack); and one sister-in-law, Jane Goins Park. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, December 15, 2022 at The Hartford Memorial Funeral Chapel with Bro. Keith Page officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 9:30 am until service time on Thursday at the funeral home. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to Hartford United Methodist Church, 141 E. Center Street, Hartford, Kentucky 42347. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
