Barney Goodman

Barney N. Goodman, 74, of Caneyville passed away May 1, 2021. He was born in Hartford on September 19, 1946, to the late Ranzy and Hazel Hill Goodman. He was a man of faith and was saved during a Revival service that was held by Brother Billy Andrews. He was a true handy man. Barney was an avid UK basketball fan. He was very patriotic. Barney graduated from Hartford High School in 1964. The heart that Barney had was truly amazing, he always wanted to make sure everyone was taken care of and was willing to help anyone at any time. He liked to spend time outside especially with his horse, Star. Along with his parents he is preceded in death by his brother Jerry Goodman and stepdaughter Carla McCauley. Barney is survived by his wife of 33 years, Sandra Goodman; children Paul (Georgina) Goodman and Paula (Guy) Frazier; 9 grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren; sisters Jonell Shartzer and Wanda Shown; numerous nieces and nephews; along with numerous in laws and cousins all of whom he loved dearly. Funeral services will be 1:00 pm Wednesday, May 5, 2021, in the Chapel of Miller-Schapmire Funeral Home with Pastor Guy Frazier officiating. Burial will follow in Rosine Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10:00 am until the time of service at the funeral home. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to St. Jude's Children's Hospital; 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105; American Cancer Society- Leukemia; 318 Main St, Evansville, IN 47708 All who wish to honor Barney at the visitation and funeral are required to wear a mask while inside the funeral home for the safety of all those in attendance.
