Frances "Pauline" Browning, a cherished member of our community, passed away peacefully on May 25, 2026, at the remarkable age of 98. Born on January 21, 1928, in Logan County, she was the beloved daughter of the late Edgar Stuart and Bertha Gilliam Stuart. Pauline was the devoted wife of the late Fred C. Browning, whose memory she carried in her heart throughout her life.

Pauline dedicated many years of her life to her work as a bookkeeper, where her meticulous nature and warm spirit left an indelible mark on the companies she served, culminating in a fulfilling career with the State of Kentucky. A true matriarch, she poured her love into her home and family, surrounding her daughters, Renona and Linda, with warmth and comfort. Her passion for sewing not only brought her joy but also adorned her home with the love and care she infused into every stitch. She was also a voracious reader till her eyesight failed.

Pauline is survived by her two daughters, Renona Browning and Linda Stockton (Steve), along with a grandson, Aaron Browning Cunningham (Michelle), three bonus grandchildren, Allyson Lewis, Richard Stockton, and Stacy Shangraw, and a great-grandson, Colin Cunningham, as well as numerous bonus great-grandchildren who brought her immense joy. She was also survived by her loving family at Dogwood Estates. She was preceded in death by her siblings: Elaine Gower, Leola Willcutt, Margaret Dill, Howard Stuart, and Merrill Stuart.

A celebration of Pauline's life will be held at a later date, allowing family and friends to gather and reflect on the beautiful memories shared with such a loving woman. Her ashes will be interred next to her beloved husband in Maple Grove Cemetery in Russellville, KY, a place where she will rest with those she cherished most. Memorial contributions can be made to Hospice of Ohio County Healthcare.

In this time of reflection, we invite you to share your memories of Pauline and express your condolences for her family at www.hartfordfh.com. She will be deeply missed, and her legacy of love will forever remain in the hearts of those she touched.
