Geraldine Louise "Jerry Lou" Belcher, 88, of Hartford, Kentucky, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, October 3, 2026.
Jerry Lou was born August 3, 1938, to Charles and Ruth Ham in Louisville, Kentucky. She was a graduate of Louisville Male High School. She was in the first class to include females in Male High School history. Additionally, she was a 1960 graduate of Georgetown College, where she earned a BA in elementary education. Jerry Lou served as an elementary teacher in Butler County, Kentucky, and Ohio County, Kentucky. After 20 years, her esteemed career came to a close with her retirement from Franklin Township Board of Education, Somerset, New Jersey.
Jerry Lou was a faithful member of Beaver Dam Baptist Church, where she served as a Sunday School teacher for the "Class of Faith." She was a member of the Ohio County Hospital Auxiliary for several years. Jerry Lou was a gifted needlecraft artist and made many beautiful, cross-stitched projects. She also enjoyed scrapbooking.
Jerry Lou was preceded in death by an infant granddaughter, Kristinè Belcher; brother-in-law and sister-in-law Raburn and Mary Lou Belcher; and brother-in-law Mike Vincent.
Jerry Lou's first love was her family. She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Cluster Belcher; two sons, Phillip Belcher (Ann), Cheshire, CT, and Charles Kevin Belcher (Laurie) of Cape Bay, New Jersey; three grandchildren and spouses, Jacob Belcher (Corey), Hannah Belcher Marquardt (Nathan), and Micah Belcher (Nicole); six great-grandchildren; her sister Joy Arnold (Larry); brother-in-law, Shelby Belcher (Betty); sister-in-law, Sharon Vincent; and numerous nephews & nieces.
The funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 7, 2026, at Hartford Funeral Home. Friends may visit with the family from 10:00 am until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that expressions of sympathy be made through donations to Beaver Dam Baptist Church "Class of Faith."
