Jonell White

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Jonell White, 80, of Beaver Dam, who left this world on December 8, 2025, in Owensboro. Born on March 9, 1945, in Grayson County, Jonell was the cherished daughter of the late Eugene White and the late Nellie Duncan Oller.

Jonell led a remarkable life, marked by resilience and strength. As a former coal miner for Peabody Coal Company, she broke barriers and exemplified the spirit of hard work. Her legacy lives on in her beloved grandchildren: Mickie Rearden, Joseph Baize, Nicholas Wilson, Lucas Wilson, as well as her devoted brother, Gwayne Payton. She was also a proud grandmother to Josie Lynn Wilson Lucas, Bliss Shephard, and McKenzie Wilson, and a great-great-grandmother to Ivory Shephard, Bryan Ace Sloan Shephard, and Huntlee Gunner Shephard. Jonell's love reached far beyond her immediate family, as evidenced by her deep-seated friendships, particularly with her childhood friend, Maryetta Hudson, who stood by her through the years.

Jonell was preceded in death by her three beloved daughters, Shawnee Wright, Shelia Baize, and Candy Wilson, who she loved dearly. Though she faced the trials of loss, her spirit remained unyielding, and she taught those around her the true meaning of love and resilience.

In celebration of her life, a gathering of family and friends will take place in the enchanting season of spring-a time when her vibrant spirit will resonate with the blossoming of new life. This celebration will honor her legacy and the warmth she brought to everyone she met.
