Lynn Leach Himes, 78 died peacefully at his home after a brief illness on August 28, 2021. He was born March 26, 1943 to the late Oriville and Joyce "Dottie" Leach Himes. Lynn served in the U.S. Army in Korea. He has been married to his wife Elaine for 31 years as of August 18th. Lynn was a member of the VFW Post 5766, AmVets Post 117 and the American Legion. He loved spending time with his family, and spending time in his garage doing woodwork and inventing things. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother, Paul Himes, two nephews, Dennis Paul and Christopher Wayne and a sister-in-law, Pat. He leaves behind his wife Elaine, three sons, Chris Himes and wife Sabine; Barry Himes and wife Michelle, and Billy Christian and wife Angie; one daughter, Tracy Fowler; eleven grandchildren, Logan Himes (Kene), Sara Spingler (Rob), Faith Storm, Dakota Himes, Kayli Himes (Cody), Julie Himes, Nicholas Christian (Jade), Nicholas Himes, Tori Christian (Timmy), Blaine Christian (Brooklyn), Mylee Himes; and four great-grandchildren, Lilly Storm, Jude Himes, Kennedy Himes and Emmi Murphy; two brothers, Roger Himes of Hartford and George Himes and wife Pam of Owensboro; and many nieces and nephews. There will be no formal services but a Celebration of Life for family and friends will be held at a later date.
