Marie Hoover

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Marie Hoover, who departed this life on June 14, 2025, in her cherished hometown of Hartford, Kentucky. Just days shy of her 100th birthday on June 20, she leaves behind a rich tapestry of loving memories and a legacy of kindness.

Born to the late Walter Z. Workman and the late Bessie Cross Workman, Marie was a guiding light in the lives of many. She was the devoted wife of the late Lewis D. Hoover and a loving mother to her late daughter, Dianne Hoover. Her heart was further warmed by the joy of a great-granddaughter, Alivia Faith Burgess, who is dearly missed.

Marie was not only a talented beautician, known for her skill and artistry, but she was also a pillar of faith as the oldest member of Barnetts Creek Baptist Church. Her unwavering spirit and deep faith will continue to inspire all who had the privilege to know her. Marie is survived by her beloved family: daughters Jeanne Seay (Mike) of Hartford, Kathy Patterson (Virgil) of Beaver Dam, and Karen Cornett-Raymer (Charles) of Hartford, as well as six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. She will also be remembered fondly by several nieces and nephews, each carrying a piece of her legacy in their hearts.

Visitation for Mrs. Hoover will be held on Wednesday, June 18, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Hartford Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow at 1:00 PM, led by Bro. Jonathan McCree, honoring a life beautifully lived. Marie will be laid to rest in Barnetts Creek Cemetery, where her spirit will join the embrace of the community she loved so dearly.
