Prentuth Brandon Lacy, a devoted husband, loving father, and esteemed veteran of the United States Navy, peacefully departed this life on April 3, 2026, in his beloved hometown of Hartford, Kentucky. He was born on January 28, 1941, in the serene landscapes of Land Between the Lakes, the son of the late Edwin Brandon and Lora Elsie Bloodworth Lacy.
Prentuth lived a life marked by honor and service. He married the love of his life, Linda Joyce McGee Lacy, and together they embarked on a remarkable journey, traveling the world as he served his nation for over 30 years in the U.S. Navy. His steadfast commitment to duty was a reflection of his character, and he held the esteemed rank of Master Chief, embodying leadership, valor, and dedication.
After retiring from military service, Prentuth embraced the challenges of civilian life, applying his skills and work ethic to various roles, including a guard at the Eddieville Prison, a pharmacy technician for Western State Hospital, and finally, a truck driver for Floyd and Beasley. His diverse career was matched only by his unwavering community involvement, as he actively participated in both the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) and the Masonic Lodge, impacting the lives of those around him.
Prentuth will be lovingly remembered by his loving wife, Linda Lacy; a cherished son, Allen Lacy, and daughter-in-law, Jeannette; his two grandchildren, Samantha Scott and her husband, Danny, and Michael Lacy; and his five precious great-grandchildren, Charlie, Meredith, Maximus, Addilyn, and Ella. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews who will carry fond memories of him in their hearts.
The family honored his memory at a graveside service, which was held on Tuesday, April 7, 2026, at 1:00 PM at Oakwood Cemetery. Friends and family are encouraged to gather and reflect on the life of a remarkable man who devoted himself to his country and his loved ones.
In this time of mourning, we find solace in the legacy of love and strength left behind by Prentuth. Condolences may be shared with the family at www.hartfordfh.com as we remember a life well-lived, full of service and camaraderie.
