Robert Getridge

Bob Getridge, 79, of Centertown passed away Sunday, September 1, 2019 at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. He was born March 23, 1940 in Gary, Indiana to the late Frank Getridge and Katherine Saems Getridge. Bob was a United States Army Vietnam vet where he was a POW on three occasions and was awarded several Purple Heart. He was retired from LTV Steel Tin Mill East Chicago,IN. Bob is preceded in death by his wife Barbara Gary Getridge, daughter Michelle Hicks. Survivors include Jon (Dawn) Laws, Michael Laws, grandchildren Gregory Alexander Monestere, Paul James Monestere, Meghan Elaine Laws, Amanda Marie Laws, Jaxson Lucus Laws. Services will be 11:00 am Saturday, September 7, 2019 at Miller Schapmire Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm Friday and again Saturday from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery. Military honors will be done by the Ohio County Honor Guard. Miller Schapmire Funeral Home is both honored and privileged to be entrusted with the care of Mr. Getridge.
